
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
In the last quarter of 2018 as part of the company’s growth and sustainability agenda, we launched the Business Reset and Business Excellence (R&BE) project to optimize our business processes The company has seen many significant changes as a result of the R&BE project. Subsequent to the R&BE, it became imperative for the company to formalise its strategic planning process and increase transparency for all our key stakeholders.
After careful and thorough analysis and planning, we set forth our five-year plan in this strategic plan. Our focus will be on three (3) priority areas;
• Strengthening our financial position
• Improving the quality of our services to maximise customer satisfaction
• Attracting, developing and retaining top industry talent.
We have developed strategies to increase our market share in our current markets as well as to exploit opportunities in new markets. We will continue to build strategic alliances and partnerships, increase our asset base and invest in relevant technology as we increase operations in all our geographic locations. We will also increase transparency and accountability to promote and enhance confidence among all our stakeholders.
Providing quality service to our customers is a vital part of the WEC mission, therefore, we continuously work at improving our services to exceed customer expectations. Our Strategic Plan focuses on nine objectives that will help drive continued improvements in customer experience.
We will continue to provide value to our customers by providing quality services at competitive prices. We are also modernising our systems and processes to improve the quality of our services and achieve superior results
Our a diverse workforce is integral to our success. As we confront the challenges of embarking on our growth and sustainability agenda, we will continue to develop top talent with in-demand skillsets. We will also focus on providing an excellent work environment as well as investing in innovative tools which empower our workforce to work at their highest potential.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Wayoe Engineering and Construction Limited (WEC) is one of the largest privately-owned Ghanaian Engineering and Construction company operating since the year 2000 with world-class capabilities and expertise spanning across the complete client value chain in the disciplines of Structural Steelwork, Mechanical Equipment, Electrical & Instrumentation, Piping & Platework (SMEIPP) project work.
Dr. Stephen Narh Wayoe and Dr. Mrs. Sarah Liki Wayoe are the co-owners and WEC has provided jobs for over 2,000 people in Ghana and across Africa since the year 2000.
WEC is located in 9 countries namely; Ghana, South Africa, Sierra Leone, DRC, Mali, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Guinea. WEC’s principal offices are strategically located in Takoradi, Ghana (Head Office) and the Capital Projects Office in Johannesburg, South Africa.
WEC currently has over 600 employees across the African continent and has successfully completed over 50 projects across Africa. Our core business offering comprises Engineering and Construction Services, Electrical and Instrumentation and Heavy Lifting Equipment Rental which delivers integrated project solutions to our clients in the Oil and Gas, Mining, Petrochemical, and Infrastructure Sectors.
WEC is an ISO accredited company. We operate a quality management system that indicates our adherence to the highest industry standards. WEC has attained the latest revisions of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, audited and accredited by Bureau Veritas – UK Branch, a world leader in ISO certification. WEC is at the implementation stage of attaining ISO 3834-3 which is certified by DNV. WEC is committed to conducting its business ethically and has completed a comprehensive due diligence process administered by TRACE, a world leader in an anti-bribery standard setting.
WEC has one of the largest and most diverse crane rental fleets in Africa. With a massive fleet of cranes and specialised equipment including rough terrain cranes and mobile cranes for complete lifting solutions that range from conventional to highly innovative alternative lifting methods. WEC owns and operates a wide range of Plant & Heavy Lifting Equipment, and has a well-equipped office and fabrication facility in Takoradi, including a Final Assembly Yard located at the Takoradi Habour.
WEC has the capacity to supply, fabricate, paint and install structural steel-work, plate-work, tanks, and various specifications of piping according to our client’s specifications and requirements. Additionally, through the establishment of our South African office, we have ensured to maintain long-lasting relationships with our valued clients, leading suppliers and preferred business partners and this has reinforced our capability to offer complete project solutions spanning across the full project life cycle. Our South African office will be instrumental in being close to our clients in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town and will also play a key role in project management, procurement, and logistics management to fully complement, support and grow our existing and expanding African operations.
The business has expanded its scope, reach and capability by offering an attractive alternative to the traditional competitors in our industry. We are increasingly taking leading positions in carefully targeted resource infrastructure projects, through a dedication to providing professional project solutions to a wide and diversified range of clients across Africa. Aside from the new business initiatives, we also pride ourselves on repeat business from major Mining companies and internationally renowned EPC/ EPCM companies.

Dr. Stephen Narh Wayoe & Dr. Mrs. Sarah Liki Wayoe are the co-owners of a fast-growing privately owned Ghanaian engineering & construction company. Wayoe Engineering & Construction Limited started over 15 years ago with the intent to provide a dynamic and streamlined workplace in an industry plagued with several workplace risks. Before starting up their company, both held jobs for a couple of large firms in the mining and manufacturing industries. Both were exposed to the challenges faced by local companies in the industry and after working for these large companies for over some time, they decided to follow their dreams of being entrepreneurs striving to create job opportunities and localisation in Ghana to achieve great heights in the industry.
Dr. Stephen Narh Wayoe & Dr. Mrs. Sarah Liki Wayoe built the company to become one of the high-profile engineering & construction companies in the country with operations spanning across Africa and have been recognised by several accreditation bodies in the local and international markets. Together they demonstrated their commitment to progressive workplace policies and providing quality services. WEC was at a point, the only Ghanaian engineering & construction company with ISO certifications in quality standards and services delivery and this served as an example for many other indigenous Ghanaian companies to emulate.
Dr. Stephen Narh Wayoe & Dr. Mrs. Sarah Liki Wayoe have over the years provided jobs for over 2,000 people in Ghana and across Africa. They have supported several individuals by assisting with funds for education and several training programs at schools and the workplace in their community. They are Christians who believe in working together with the church to render a helping hand to the masses and have contributed funds to several ministries and ministers so the work of the ministry may continue. They also remain committed to changing the state of education, employment and general improvement in their community. Stephen and Sarah have a steadfast love for God and his purposes and they have both remained steadfast and determined to have an impact in this world with the gift that God has placed in them.
